Minimize yield losses with the TIGO Energy Optimizer

The TIGO Energy Optimizer operates based on UHD Core technology and individually optimizes the maximum power point of each connected solar module. This allows each module to deliver its maximum power output independently of neighboring modules. Compared to conventional string inverters without module optimization, yield increases of 5 to 20 percent can be achieved, depending on the system configuration.

A key advantage lies in the isolation of underperforming modules. In conventional string configurations, the weakest module determines the overall power output of the entire string. The TIGO Energy Optimizer detects power deviations in real time and isolates affected modules, allowing the remaining panels to operate at their full capacity. TIGO Solar Optimizer for partial shading and mismatch

Partial shading is one of the most common problems with photovoltaic systems. Even a single partially shaded module can reduce the output of an entire string by up to 40 percent. The TIGO Solar optimizers in our shop solve this problem using MLPE technology. Each optimizer continuously measures the voltage, current, and temperature of the assigned module and adjusts the operating point accordingly.

The TIGO system also allows for targeted retrofitting. Unlike complete systems from other manufacturers, not all modules need to be equipped with optimizers. Install TIGO Energy Optimizers selectively on the modules affected by shading or other impairments. This selective approach significantly reduces investment costs and makes retrofitting economically attractive even for existing systems. The optimizers are compatible with virtually all common string inverters, including Fronius, Huawei, GoodWe, and many other brands from our product range.

The TIGO system with Cloud Connect and Access Point

For the full functionality of the TIGO system, we offer two additional components besides the optimizers: the Cloud Connect Advanced and the Access Point. The Cloud Connect Advanced serves as the central management unit, connecting the installation to the TIGO monitoring portal via WLAN or Ethernet. It enables the configuration of the entire system and the activation of the rapid shutdown function in accordance with international security standards.

The TIGO Access Point acts as a communication bridge between the individual optimizers and Cloud Connect Advanced. A single gateway can communicate wirelessly with up to 300 TIGO Energy components and has a range of approximately 35 meters. Installation is tool-free and attaches to the module frame or substructure. The TIGO Energy Intelligence platform provides detailed insights into the performance of each individual module. Monitoring includes real-time data, fault diagnostics, and long-term yield analyses. TIGO Solar solutions for different module orientations

Complex roofscapes with varying angles and orientations have long posed a challenge for photovoltaic systems. The TIGO Solar optimizers in our product range allow for the combination of modules with different orientations within a single string without any loss of efficiency. An east-west orientation with additional modules on a dormer window can thus be easily implemented in a single system.

TIGO's Predictive IV Technology analyzes the behavior of each module and predicts its optimal operating point. This predictive algorithm maximizes the lifetime yield of the entire system. The current TIGO Energy Optimizers in the UHD series support modules with a power output of up to 700 to 800 watts and a maximum input current of 15 amps. This makes them ideally suited even for the latest high-performance modules. All TIGO products available from PV-24 feature MC4 connectors and can be installed in just a few minutes. Their compact dimensions of 140 x 138 x 23 millimeters and low weight of approximately 490 grams make them easy to handle on the roof.
